Since I started working with Charlotte, she has helped me lose over seven stone. I have dropped 4 shirt sizes and now buy trousers which are 8 inches smaller around the waist. This has led me to be a more confident & outgoing person.

She has planned exercise routine's and activities which are both rewarding and fun, as well as instructed me on what kind of activities are likely to be the most effective in the area's which I would like to improve.

She has also shown me how to understand my body's signal's regarding food, how
to plan a balanced diet, and how to read the nutritional information on packaging.

I have learnt about looking at labels, seeing how much sugar is actually in cereals and yoghurts. We are just aware of what is a better choice. It was good seeing how much we lost with the weighted vest, such a good idea. I am now able to identify with myself how I really feel, if I’m hungry or not and why I’m eating when I don’t really need to. It’s been so much better not having as much caffeine; learning about water has really helped me too. I never realised what a difference it would make to me, and those in my life.

The programmes have brought us a lot of awareness and with that it has brought discipline. This is what guides us through, we do go up and down but we have been made aware of what to stick to and keep going. It’s not always going to be easy. The staff are great, we just wish we could have more. We love Sharon, she is encouraging and really motivates us. She gives us one on one support and really cares.

We are learning more about values and not fast food. Fast food is so cheap but it makes you feel bad, spending that little bit more on yourself is so much more worth it. When I go to the supermarket I’m now thinking about things I can cook, it can still eat everything I want but just in moderation. It’s made me so much more aware of what is available to me. Eating healthier is making me feel more confident. Charlotte is so helpful with the advice, the 1:2:1 support with our food diaries. She does not moan at us. If we don’t do well one week she encourages us and tries to help us achieve better next week. I went to this other class and this lady was saying she was trying to train her body not to like sugar. It just made me laugh. I wanted to tell her all about what I had learnt about our lifestyle changes. You can’t train your body not to like something, just don’t have as much! Try and have natural sugars. Some people are so funny. Some programmes just try to get into your head, whereas Charlotte and the team are just so caring and want to help. It’s different.

It has been lovely meeting people and taking part in the classes, they motivate you and support you. Even if you have not lost any weight it’s nice to have that someone there spurring you on, telling you that you can next week. I like the core ball classes they are a challenge, it’s not that good at first but when you actually let the instructor help you and trust them, the results are brilliant. I went and brought one myself.

It’s good being able to use a gym with our vouchers and have someone there to train us. Its so much more encouraging than other weight loss classes, others are not friendly and don’t have that personal touch. Others just meet and you pay to be talked at, we love being able to share and laugh without feeling like we are being judged.

I use to go to the supermarket and buy everything on offer, I went the other day and for the first time I picked up two packets of mince pies and ended up putting them away. I know what I have to do and buy smaller packets. Just because it’s on offer I don’t have to buy it.

I used to be very ignorant towards trying to get myself into better shape; I used to think I knew what I needed to know about nutrition, good diet and a fair amount about fitness and exercise. Charlotte agreed to take me on and I soon realised how little I knew and lost I was.

Working with Charlotte towards my goals each week, month and my "this time next year I'll be... " was at first a real challenge because I was still fighting myself... Soon after though, with the care and mentoring from Charlotte, things became easy and even easier to stick with! Now, I have a completely different mind towards everything that I was ignorant towards before. Thank you, you really have made a huge difference for me!
