Company Directors - Our Story Personal Training Charlotte Waters Fiternal
"I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing [to the world]… in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" (Genesis 12:2–3).

Matthew and Charlotte started fiternal ltd one day after one of Charlotte's crazy long runs. Charlotte was praying while she ran, asking God what she could do to really make a difference in peoples lives. Her work in mainstream health and fitness felt worthless. Large corporate centres were there for the money, not the wellness of their customers. Charlotte's heart was for the people - not her or her employers' pockets. This burden grew over time. With more prayer came a stronger desire to start a fitness and wellness company that had Christ at it's centre.
Charlotte:
My career started in entertainment. Starting as a Redcoat at Butlins, I moved onto the entertainment team onboard cruise ships and then a party host in leisure centres. At this time I found myself living in Australia, searching for something that was missing in my life. Something that I couldn't verbalise. I found this something in Christ at a Hillsong's church meeting. I returned home and after a few months of embracing God's word and letting him take control of my life, He blessed me with a new job and much more. My mission and purpose was finally becoming clear. I always wanted to make a difference in peoples lives, help them to feel better about themselves and feel more positive. Whilst working at in the leisure centre I was given the opportunity to train as a gym instructor and I very quickly completed a personal training qualification. I taught in the gym for a year instructing spin, dance, legs bums and tums, mature movers, teenagers, combat, boxercise, hulacise and my own personal training clients. It was a time of encouragement and blessing, and I met my fiancé Matthew. My God given vision for fiternal's future, is to work more with broken lives. Those who have been abused, have eating disorders, substance problems or have suffered neglect.

Matthew:
I've always had a creative spirit, and a desire to find God's purpose in my life. This has led me to many places, initially working in publishing, before moving into corporate graphic design. After several years I felt a similar call to that of Charlottes, and I took a break from my career to work with various Christian charities around the world. After a couple of years I returned to full time work in pharmaceutical advertising. When Charlotte shared her vision with me I was keen to help and support her however I could. Naturally I was drawn to creating a look and name for the company. With the core values of the business being Christ's heart for His people, and Charlottes desire to give lasting advice to her clients, I eventually stumbled into fiternal. A simple combination of fitness and eternal. A created word that sums up the vision of fiternal ltd.

fiternal ltd is a Christian company and our mission is with adults, children, youths and families. We both have a heart for mission abroad and outreach in the community. In 2012 fiternal will be taking a team out to Uganda (Africa), to teach sports, help build an orphanage, work in the school and help in the babies home. fiternal's goal is to make a real and lasting difference in people's lives. Sharing our knowledge of healthier more active living and creating more positive family lifestyles for life and beyond.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

As with a lot of people, I enjoyed most sports as I grew up and participated in as many as I could. By the time I had reached my mid teens, I had represented my county at badminton, played football to a reasonably high standard and had been boxing for as long as I can remember. Once I started work my ability and motivation to participate in any sport diminished, along with my fitness levels. At the beginning of 2006 aged 34, I weighed 137kg (approx 22st) and decided that a change of lifestyle was required.

Over the next 3 years I managed to lose almost 40kg (approx 6st) and soon started to feel the benefits of a more healthy lifestyle. Although there were some significant changes to my lifestyle, the key to the results were hard work, eating sensibly (not a diet) and being realistic on what I could achieve given my personal circumstances.

One of the more significant changes in lifestyle was a change of career to become a qualified Personal Trainer, allowing me to help others who may want to lose weight. Having actually lost the weight myself, I know what to expect and the emotions and frustrations along the way. My training style is relaxed but motivational, as I appreciate that we all have to start somewhere but am commited to ensuring you meet your goals.

Hi, I'm Beth. I'm a 28 year old Personal Trainer from Bromley. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Community Fit Clubs; it's great to be working in the local community - helping people to improve their lives and really learn something in the process! I have met so many people through the clubs who are an inspiration to others - people who have worked hard and got results they never expected! For me, the best part is seeing their confidence improve and hearing stories about how good they feel! It's a cause that is very close to my heart after my own weight loss battle before I became a Personal Trainer. I remember the learning process involved in losing weight, the struggles and the excuses! In total, I lost almost 6 stone(!) and my life changed in almost every way. I now love helping others to do the same and seeing the difference it makes to them!
